Each session lasts 45 minutes and costs £4. There is no signing on fee.

The NCT has a network of over 300 local branches in the UK, dedicated to supporting parents via a range of services including antenatal and postnatal courses, breastfeeding support, bumps and babies groups, coffee mornings, nearly new sales and much, much more.

Thanet Kids is very happy to announce that a new Bumps and Babies group will run every other Friday from 10.00 am to 11.30am at Helter Skelter in Broadstairs, starting on Friday 22nd October 2010. Bumps and Babies is open to NCT members and non-members and is a small friendly group for mums-to-be and new mums/carers (with babies up to about 9 months). It’s a great opportunity to meet, socialize and make new friends. Come along for coffee, tea and biscuits and share your experiences with people who are at a similar stage in their life.

NCT Nearly New Sales are a great place to pick up a few bargains as well as perhaps make a little bit of spending money by selling those quality Nearly New items you may have at home. We sell Nearly New clothes and toys for the under 5s. There is also an area full of baby and maternity equipment – such as highchairs, stairgates, pushchairs, feeding pillows, etc.

The Sale starts at 2pm till 4pm, but NCT members, volunteers and sellers have preview access from 1pm. If you would like to become a member, you can join at www.nct.org.uk/join

The centre has Hornby models going back as far as 1921, including the original clockwork O gauge locomotive. It has a couple of large layouts which our boys found absorbing, following the trains in and out of tunnels.

They also have a Scalextric track laid out that you can ‘practise’ on, plus a unique spiral layout. There are displays of Scalextric models from the 50s through to present day and it’s possible to see how the model cars are developed.

The impact of Hornby on the world of toys is incredible. Not only are there are displays of model railways from around the globe, including France, Germany and the US, but the centre features Airfix displays, Humbrol paints, and Corgi collectables.

If you are of a certain age, you’ll find plenty of memories here. And even with Wiis, PlayStations, and the internet waiting at home, your children will find the toys and models just as much fun as you did.
